Today with the expansion
of Alabama's wild turkey population, interest in wild turkey conservation
is spreading. Along with that growing interest is a dedicated concern and
a promise by the NWTF that the wild turkey will never revert to its near
extinction levels of the early third of the twentieth century.
Since Alabama's wild
turkey population is a biological barometer for the health of our overall
outdoor resources, it's no surprise that our work also benefits everything
from deer to cardinals. In the last 25 years, nearly $80 million NWTF and
cooperator dollars have been spent on projects benefitting wild turkeys and
other wildlife throughout the United States and Mexico. |
